A government health department in Launceston is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support a multi-disciplinary team in delivering high-quality mental health services. Responsibilities include managing client interactions, maintaining filing systems, and providing essential administrative support. The role is permanent part-time, offering a salary range of $66,049 to $70,993 per annum pro rata. The successful applicant will need to meet essential criteria and will enjoy various employee benefits including salary packaging and leave entitlements.
The Administrative Assistant is part of a collaborative and client-focused team within the Department of Health Tasmania, often working in units such as the Office of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO) or community health centres. The team supports a wide range of administrative functions that are essential to the smooth operation of Tasmania’s public health services. This includes managing reception duties, coordinating appointments, maintaining records, and supporting internal communications.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Administrative Assistant provides day to day administrative support to a designated team/unit within Mental Health North and contributes towards optimal administrative and business support processes.

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.

$66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year plus other benefits if eligible.
