Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a Primary School Admin Assistant in the North East of England. The successful candidate will support front-of-house administration, manage financial matters, and lead extracurricular activities. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and enhance the school's administration team. Strong communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service, but can be processed).
  • Experience of short, medium, and long-term planning.
  • Previous admin experience or experience in a school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support front-of-house administration including answering phones and hospitality.
  • Process payments linked to school dinners and other financial matters.
  • Lead curriculum enrichment administration, such as organising school clubs.

Overview

Primary School Admin Assistant

Prospero Teaching are seeking to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual to join a school Primary Schools admin team we are working with in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and other office staff, leading key aspects of administration.

Start: November Start

Hours: 8:30 - 16:00

Contract: Full time until Christmas with option to extend

Pay: 90-100 per day

Key Attributes
  • Good maths and English skills (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in using IT applications (e.g., spreadsheets, databases and all other Microsoft systems)
  • The ability to build strong relationships with team members, parents, and governors
Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting front-of-house administration, including answering phones, hospitality, first aid, and correspondence
  • Processing payments linked to school dinners, lettings, and other financial matters
  • Leading curriculum enrichment administration, such as organising school clubs and trips
  • Maintaining the school's social media presence and website
Eligibility / Qualifications
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
  • Previous admin experience or experience working in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and the Microsoft packages
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards work
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
