Administrative Assistant

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role, however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. You must have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administration Assistant based at UHNM in the Nephrology Department.

This is an exciting post for someone looking to join the NHS and work within an experienced secretarial team in a hospital environment.

The post holder will need to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and an organized approach to their work.

The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support a team of Band 4 Medical Secretaries/Team Leaders and Band 3 Medical Secretaries to provide a safe and reliable administrative service.

The post holder will be responsible for communicating information, both written and verbal, with patients, staff and carers requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will also handle telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement and acquired knowledge to assess each situation and to deal with it accordingly.

The post holder will be expected to maintain good working relationships and work as an effective team member, to ensure their own work is of a high standard and to share the day-to-day workload of the specialty team.
