Team Overview

This role will predominately provide support to our Business Services team, but will also support the Business Tax team, enabling exposure to both specialisms within Buzzacott.

Our Business Services team is one of Buzzacott’s largest teams providing specialist support to a range of businesses and charities. They provide the full complement of outsourced services including management accounting, VAT, payroll, company secretarial, HR and regulatory reporting.

Our Business Tax team provide a wide range of compliance and advisory services to clients in diverse sectors including finance, retail, property, construction, technology and media. The tax landscape is constantly changing, and our clients rely on us to tackle complex problems and support them through any changes that will impact their business.

Role Overview

To provide daily, flexible, proactive administrative support across the Business Services and Business Tax Teams.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To assist and support the team by providing administrative support.
  • To ensure all work undertaken is produced within agreed timescales, escalating to the Manager where necessary.
  • To sort and organise post on SharePoint, sorting through the originals taking out cheques/requests from managers/sending on to clients and ensuring outgoing post is collected.
  • To provide cover in the absence of other team administrators.
  • Process documents in accordance with the firm’s procedures whilst ensuring that any regulations concerning security or confidentiality (such as safeguarding password) are complied with.
  • To take an interest in the operation of the teams so that you are aware of current work being dealt with by Team Members.
  • With the support of your manager, take responsibility for developing your skills and abilities.
  • Draft/amend/finalise letters and accounts and assist with the iXBRL tagging process, submitting codes on behalf of the team.
  • Ad-hoc project support to include but not limited to PE updates/amends/software testing/retain updates.
  • Manage meeting arrangements by sending and updating calendar invites, and booking meeting rooms as required.
Skills and Experience
  • 5 GCSEs grade A-C including English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Good use of English grammar
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal communication skills enabling professional interactions with internal and external clients
  • Able to work to deadlines; level-headed and not put off by pressure; able to prioritise workload and be self-sufficient; a multi-tasker; also willing to do more mundane jobs
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
