Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Administration assistant at Corpus Christi Catholic School - part of Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust. This is a fantastic employer with a strong record of recruiting and developing apprentices where you'll be performing a variety of tasks on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all visitors entering the school follow safeguarding procedures & policy
  • Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals
  • Assist with marketing and promotion of the school
  • Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of support service systems, procedures and policies
  • Manage manual and computerised record / information systems
  • Respond to all telephone calls & enquiries in a polite, professional manner and relay information to appropriate staff and students when expected to do so
  • Record & sign on receipt for deliveries to the school and arrange for distribution
  • Maintain & update school staff & student data as required
  • Word processing, photocopying, routine administration tasks, and finance tasks where directed by line manager
  • Reception duties
  • Filing, photocopying, collation of information and general clerical work on behalf of the admin department
  • Standard word‑processing, presentation work, spreadsheet work and database input as required
  • Keep up to date with the school's requirements (policies and procedures)
  • Undertake training and CPD as required
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
  • Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
  • Produce accurate records and documents including emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals, and make recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management
  • Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks
  • Exercise proactivity and good judgement, make effective decisions based on sound reasoning and deal with challenges in a mature way
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the organisation, demonstrate the ability to influence and challenge appropriately, and become a role model to peers and team members
  • Demonstrate good communication skills in all formats, using the most appropriate channels and social media solutions appropriately
  • Complete tasks to a high standard, review processes autonomously and make suggestions for improvement, share best practice across the organisation, and apply problem‑solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints and act as a key point of contact for addressing issues
  • Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time to successfully meet deadlines, positively manages the expectations of colleagues at all levels, and sets a positive example for others in the workplace
  • Organise meetings and events, take minutes during meetings and create action logs, and manage logistics such as travel and accommodation
  • Use relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report; plan required resources to deliver projects and undertake and lead projects as required
