Job summary

A community support organization in Carrickfergus is looking for an Administrative Support member. You will provide essential administrative assistance, help with volunteer recruitment, and support onboarding processes. This temporary position offers up to 25 flexible hours a week with competitive hourly rates. Ideal candidates should have good IT skills and a NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: HOME-START EAST ANTRIMTo support the Finance & Administration functions of Home-Start East Antrim in the day-to-day office tasks and volunteer recruitment processes. The post holder will assist staff with administrative tasks, data impute, and the recruitment and on boarding of volunteers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to staff and the Finance & Administration Officer as required including general office administration such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and maintaining organised records.
  • Carry out data entry and help keep digital and paper records accurate and up to date.
  • Assist Scheme Support Worker with communication to volunteers and families by phone, email, or post, volunteer recruitment processes, including advertising roles, processing applications, and tracking responses.
  • Support the on boarding of new volunteers by assisting with reference checks, ID verification, and maintaining volunteer files.
  • Help coordinate volunteer training sessions and events, including preparing materials, booking venues, and taking attendance.
  • Maintain and update volunteer databases and digital systems under supervision.
  • Ensure confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  • Contribute positively to the overall work of Home-Start East Antrim and uphold the charity’s values.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Good level of IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online systems.
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive working relationships.
