Job summary

Hartlepool Borough Council is seeking an experienced administrative professional to join the SEND team and provide day-to-day support to SEN Officers, the SEND Team Leader, and the Head of Service. You will maintain records, manage case data, and help with EHCP processes.

Strong IT skills and MS Office proficiency are essential, along with clear written and verbal communication. The role requires reliability, flexibility and an ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to SEN Officers, SEND Team Leader, Head of Service and the SEND team.
  • Maintain accurate records on SEND databases and case management systems.
  • Process incoming correspondence, reports and assessments related to EHC needs assessments and EHCPs.
  • Keep confidential records in line with GDPR and Local Authority policies.
  • Assist with Tribunal and mediation administration, including collating relevant documentation.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and administrative processes.

  • Experience of working in an administrative function role and use of data systems
  • Have clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate IT skills and the use of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to set up meetings and events and prepare agendas and minutes.
