Administration Assistant

Grade 3 £25,185 - £25,989 pro rata

22.5 hours term time only, Monday – Friday 8.30am – 1pm - Permanent

Overview

The Governing Body and Headteacher are seeking to appoint an Admin Assistant who is organised, hardworking and a great first contact for people visiting and contacting our school. The post holder will work with the Office Manager assisting in the provision of an effective secretarial, administrative and clerical support service to facilitate the day‑to‑day running of the school office, including the finance and budget control system.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support, keep staff and parents updated, assist with First Aid, collaborate with the Headteacher and senior leaders, and support the finance and budget control system.

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in administrative duties
  • Ability to keep staff and parents up to date with information and support parents and other stakeholders with enquiries
  • Familiar with Durham LA policies and procedures
  • Prepared to work collaboratively with the Headteacher and senior leaders
  • Prepared to assist with First Aid across the school
Required Skills
  • Well organised and efficient with a friendly disposition; able to handle challenging situations while balancing day‑to‑day work
  • Flexible and eager to work as part of a team and contribute to the smooth running of the school
  • Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide accurate spoken English
