Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working and may withdraw this vacancy if the position is filled via internal redeployment. The successful candidate will be based at Nevill Hall but may need to travel to other sites to provide cover for annual leave or sickness.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and open post, type emails and correspondence, and act as the first point of contact for Nevill Hall Children's Centre.
  • Answer telephone calls and liaise with the public, staff and professionals in a sympathetic and professional manner.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing (manual and electronic), scanning and sending out signed letters and reports promptly.
  • Maintain and develop databases and systems to support the smooth running of the Centre and ensure all tasks comply with departmental procedures.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, support communication across the team and carry out any other tasks compatible with the grade as assigned by the Children's Centre Team Lead.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong keyboard and IT skills and confidence in using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Desirable experience in an office or reception environment.
  • Calm, patient and polite telephone manner.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, use initiative and maintain professionalism.
  • Interest in the wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering high‑quality administrative support.
  • Welsh language: desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
