Job summary

A comprehensive school in the UK is seeking a Receptionist to provide support for students and ensure the efficient operation of the administration team. The ideal candidate will have GCSEs with at least a Grade C in English and Maths, excellent communication skills, and experience in customer service. The role includes welcoming visitors and handling enquiries sensitively. The position is temporary maternity cover until July 2026.

Qualifications

37 Hours per week Term Time plus 5 Training Days

The role is to provide support for students at the student services office and cover for reception if necessary. As the first point of contact, the Receptionist has the responsibility of letting visitors know they are welcome and that their enquiry will be treated with courtesy, respect and sensitivity. The post holder will also contribute to the efficient operation of the school’s administration team. The successful candidate will be educated to at least GCSE, with at least a Grade C in English and Maths.

St. John Fisher is an 11-18 comprehensive school with a rich Catholic ethos. There are 800 students on roll including the Sixth Form. The school was rebuilt in 2009, as a result of which we have excellent facilities and well-equipped rooms. The school was judged Good by Ofsted in October 2013 and again in November 2017 and Outstanding by the Diocese in December 2013, 2018 and again in March 2022 . Visits to the school are welcome.
