Overview

SEN Exams and Alternative Curriculums Administration Assistant

Start date: 19 January 2026

Salary: CAN scale 14-17 (£27,541 to £30,171 per annum, full time equivalent. Term time (190 days), 21 hours actual salary - £13,463 - £14,749)

Working hours: 21 hours per week, between 8.00am and 4.00pm. Days per year: 190 days (188 term time days plus 2 staff preparation days).

Our school: Thank you for your interest in this role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our SEN Team as an SEN Exams and Alternative Curriculums Administration Assistant. We were proud to achieve a Good outcome in Ofsted inspection in October 2023 in which Ofsted commented that the school is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND, and has designed a curriculum with high academic expectations. The post has been advertised due to school expansion and a larger intake of students in September 2025.

The post:

At Oaks Park High School, SEN support encompasses mainstream provision and support within the specialist base for students with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition). The SEN Exams and Alternative Curriculums Administration Assistant will work closely with teaching and support staff at all levels, as well as with parents/carers, pupils and external agencies. This is an interesting and varied role that involves working closely with your line manager, the Trust Director of SEND and other senior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Deputy Headteacher/SENCO and Trust Director of SEND
  • Receive SEND exams related phone calls, messages and emails and relay information swiftly within the SEN Team as appropriate
  • Help with the organisation of Access Arrangements assessments
  • Assist in the compilation and production of reports, records and data
  • Be confident in the use of Arbor, CPOMS, Provision Maps and other relevant software and to attend training as required
  • Remain up to date on JCQ guidance, yearly updates and attend any necessary training as and when required

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to form good working relationships with parents/carers and colleagues
  • An ability to work well with students in any interactions with them, including a willingness to learn and awareness of their particular needs
  • Adaptability and flexibility in working practices
  • Ability to set standards and apply them consistently
  • A high degree of professionalism
  • An ability to present a good role model to pupils and staff
  • A good level of computer literacy plus a willingness to learn
  • The confidence to take part in social time duties and interact positively with students and/or provide short term individual student supervision as requested
