A regional healthcare provider is seeking a full-time Administration & Clerical Officer to support the bowel cancer screening programme. Based in Shrewsbury, the role involves managing patient appointments, maintaining records, and providing administrative support. The Shropshire Bowel Cancer Screening Centre has a rare and exciting opportunity to recruit a full‑time Administration & Clerical Officer to support the continued development of this national programme. The post‑holder will be based at William Farr House at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, but will also work regularly at The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford. The service currently runs over 6 days, Monday to Saturday, and may extend to 7‑day working as the programme expands.
The team comprises a Programme Manager, Lead Specialist Screening Practitioner, Programme Coordinator, 5 Admin & Clerical Officers and 13 Specialist Screening Practitioners.
The centre has managed the screening programme covering the geographical area of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin since 2009. The screening sites are at The Royal Shrewsbury and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The service offers diagnostic tests for 50‑74 year olds in Shropshire after a positive faecal immunochemical test (FIT), in addition to the regular colonoscopy surveillance of patients with Lynch syndrome.
