Job Summary
Band 3 Secretary/Administrator – 30 hours per week, part‑time, flexible working. The role is based at New Street Health and Wellbeing Centre, Barnsley, with occasional travel between sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, confidential secretarial/administrative support to clinical and support services under the direction of the Administrative Supervisor.
- Maintain patient records in accordance with information governance policies and procedures.
- Act as the principal point of contact for service users, both by telephone and face‑to‑face, navigating them through their pathway and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, including evenings and weekends.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, service users and the public; communicate effectively, empathetically and with respect for confidentiality.
- Prioritise tasks, exercise independence and initiative, and seek guidance on matters outside the postholder’s competence or authority.
- Observe established departmental and Trust policies, procedures and protocols at all times.
- Use effective verbal and written communication, adapting style to suit users’ needs and communication difficulties.

- Effective team working with minimal supervision.
- Experience working in a busy environment with competing demands.
- Understanding of strict confidentiality requirements.
- Initiative in organising and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.

Qualifications – Essential
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) or RSA III; or ability to demonstrate competency at Level 3.
