Job description

AIFS Abroad is seeking an instructor in Environmental Science to teach our Spring semester course, London – Sustainable City? at our Kensington center. The course explores sustainability as a multidimensional challenge for Britain—social, economic, and cultural as well as environmental—through a focus on London’s ongoing efforts to become a greener city. Teaching begins in the week commencing 26th January 2026 and finishes in late April.

The role involves following the AIFS Abroad syllabus, designing and delivering engaging classes, setting and grading assignments, and leading experiential learning field trips. The course will benefit greatly from an instructor who brings strong knowledge of London and active links with relevant sectors or industries.

Candidates should hold a PhD in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Geography, Sustainability Studies, or a closely related discipline. However, applicants with substantial professional experience in these areas—or those working in green enterprise, sustainable business, or environmental innovation—will also be considered. Experience related to urban regeneration, environmental policy, or sustainability initiatives in the UK would be particularly welcome.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis so prompt submission is encouraged. Interested candidates should please apply to Bianca Leggett at bleggett@aifs.co.uk.
