Are you a qualified solicitor, chartered legal executive, barrister (or equivalent) with solid experience in making evidence‑based decisions? We are looking to appoint adjudicators to make regulatory decisions on a broad range of work. This is a full‑time hybrid role.
The role
You must be a solicitor, barrister, chartered legal executive or hold equivalent legal professional status with entitlement to practise in England and Wales. You will also have significant experience in an environment where decision‑making is required.
This role needs someone with a solid grounding of skills, experience and judgement to reach reasoned and accurate decisions quickly. Decisive decisions require detailed analysis of complex, technical, and often large amounts of information and evidence. You must demonstrate sound, objective judgement, strong analytical skills and solid writing abilities.
You will be accountable for making clear, reasoned and proportionate decisions by applying the relevant legal framework, policy and criteria to protect the public interest and mitigate regulatory risk. Decisions include fining individuals or firms, imposing regulatory controls, rebuking, imposing conditions, intervening into firms, considering compensation fund payments and reviewing operational team decisions.
Additionally, you will identify ways to improve decision‑making quality, deliver internal training and contribute to projects as required.
