Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust seeks a clinician to lead ADHD prescribing and management for adults across RDASH services. You will conduct assessments, diagnose and treat, and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

The role involves independent prescribing within guidelines, risk management and contributing to service development in ADHD across localities.

Qualifications

• Needs to be a prescriber with independent prescribing rights.
• Experience in ADHD may be required or preferred.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide initiation, titration and ongoing management of ADHD treatment.
• Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with ADHD.
• Exercise autonomous prescribing and follow guidelines.
• Ensure risk assessments and management for patients and families.
• Support shared care arrangements and implement new ADHD developments.

Job description

To provide a high-quality specialist ADHD service to patients and their families across RDASH services. The post holder will be a prescriber for initiation, titration and ongoing management of ADHD treatment.

To provide comprehensive expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of Adults with ADHD across the RDASH localities. Review with others the assessment and monitoring of adults identified with ADHD.

Provide direct nursing judgement and treatment interventions based on skills and knowledge regarding clinical management and educational management of adults with ADHD.

Exercise Independent prescribing rights using guidelines and protocols.

Ensure that the patient’s interests are fully considered within the context of care, actively participating in ethical decision making within the multi-disciplinary team.

Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of patients.

To undertake risk assessments and risk management for individuals and their families.

To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to ADHD.

To provide high quality support and advice to health and other professionals.

To supervise the implementation and monitoring of new developments in ADHD.

To promote and co-ordinate the implementation of shared care arrangements.

Facilitate the resolution of potentially conflicting and antagonistic opinions of stakeholders in order that a collaborative approach is received by the service user and their family.
