Job summary

Alliancefor Better Care CIC in Crawley, West Sussex, seeks an experienced ADHD Pharmacist to join a new primary-care led ADHD service. The role is for a dedicated Independent Prescriber with mental health experience, focused on ADHD care with remote assessments and prescribing.

The post offers remote-working flexibility while enabling you to directly impact patient wellbeing and service innovation in ADHD care. Training will be provided where required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered pharmacist with independent prescribing capabilities.
  • Experience in mental health and ADHD management across primary/secondary care.
  • Experience delivering remote assessments and prescribing in ADHD care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ADHD medication reviews and mental health assessments via secure remote platforms.
  • Prescribe ADHD and psychotropic medications following NICE guidelines and local policies.
  • Monitor high-risk patients with appropriate escalation and follow-up.
  • Provide specialist advice on ADHD and mental health medication management to clinicians.
  • Lead ADHD medication review clinics and ensure patient flow.

Job description

Anopportunity for an experienced ADHD Pharmacist to join a new primary-care ledADHD service in Crawley, West Sussex.

This role is fora dedicated Independent Prescriber with proven experience in mental health,primary or secondary care settings with an interest in ADHD. You will play akey role in supporting patients with ADHD and other complex mental healthconditions, delivering safe, high-quality care through remote assessments,reviews, and prescribing.

This role offersthe flexibility of remote working while allowing you to make a direct impact onpatient wellbeing and service innovation in ADHD care. Training will be provided where required.

Main duties of the job
  • Conduct comprehensive ADHD medication reviewsand mental health assessments via secure remote platforms
  • Prescribe ADHD and psychotropic medicationssafely, adhering to NICE guidelines, local formularies, and Trust policies
  • Monitor and manage patients with complex andhigh-risk presentations, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalation
  • Optimise pharmacological treatment, consideringdrug efficacy, side effects, and patient adherence
  • Provide specialist advice to clinicians on ADHDand mental health medication management

Job responsibilities
  • Participate in continuous professionaldevelopment and clinical supervision in line with professional registrationrequirements
  • Utilise Shared Care Protocols to allow for safedischarge to primary care
  • Work autonomously within professional practiceguidelines and ABCs ADHD policies and standard operating procedures
  • Lead and coordinate ADHD medication reviewclinics, ensuring access and patient flow are prioritised
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and detailedclinical documentation in electronic health records (SystmOne)

Qualifications
  • Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-risk patients
  • Background in primary (GP/medical) or secondary (hospital) care

  • CPD-accredited ADHD Diagnostic and Assessment qualification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations
  • Knowledge of primary and urgent care pathways
