Job summary

ReFood is seeking an AD Site Operative at its Widnes site to support safe, efficient operation of the plant. The role involves working Monday to Friday, 08.00 to 17.00, with potential overtime and rostered shifts as required.

Responsibilities include operating the mobile plant, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and assisting with weighbridge paperwork and traffic management. A Forklift qualification would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle raw material; heavy lifting may be required.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform basic lab tests and quality checks on raw material and paperwork.
• Keen eye for detail; flexible, practical, hardworking, and able to work on own initiative.
• Forklift qualification would be an advantage.

• Assist management in controlling and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of the ReFood operation in accordance with management instructions, Health & Safety and Legislative requirements.
• Operate the mobile plant in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure that the facility, its plant, and equipment are maintained and cleaned as specified.
• Work in accordance with staff rosters and cover when required for unplanned absence.
• To support with weighbridge duties, such as paperwork regarding incoming and outgoing material. Along with traffic management, when required.
• Undertaking any other duties requested by the ReFood Management Team.

AD Site Operative (Days)

Location: Widnes

Business: The ReFood AD plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food waste to produce renewable energy, heat and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also recycle the food waste packaging. The plants provide an environmentally sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfill.

The Position

Applications are invited for an AD Site Operative to work at our ReFood, Widnes site working 45 hours per week (08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday)

As an AD Site Operative your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the factory requirements but will include:

• Assisting management in controlling and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of the ReFood operation in accordance with management instructions, Health & Safety and Legislative requirements.
• Operating the mobile plant in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures.
• Ensuring that the facility, its plant, and equipment are maintained and cleaned as specified.
• Working in accordance with staff rosters and cover when required for unplanned absence.
• To support with weighbridge duties, such as paperwork regarding incoming and outgoing material. Along with traffic management, when required.

Requirements

• Have the ability to handle raw material. Some heavy lifting may be required.
• Be able to work on your own or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Have the ability to undertake, process and quality check raw material and associated paperwork and perform basic lab tests.
• Have a keen eye for detail, be flexible, practical, hardworking, and able to work under your own initiative.
• A Forklift Truck qualification would be an advantage.
