Job summary

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Acute Oncology Service. You will provide specialist assessment, advice, and care coordination for patients with acute cancer-related complications.

Working with established CNSs and Consultant Oncologists, you will support patients with metastatic spinal cord compression, cancer of unknown primary, and serious non-specific symptoms where cancer is suspected.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Special interest in oncology and patient-centred care.
• Experience in acute care and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and care for acute cancer-related complications.
• Coordinate care across acute, specialist and community services.
• Educate and support patients and families; contribute to service improvement.
