Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Mental Health professional to join the Liaison team at Springhill Unit, Tameside. This permanent role involves working across a 24/7, 37.5-hour week with shift patterns including nights.

You will assess, manage risk, and refer patients from Emergency Department and medical wards to appropriate mental health services. The role emphasizes collaboration with police, NWAS, and local authorities.

Qualifications

• Professional registration in health or social care with up to date accreditation / CPD-RMN, Dip SW, BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Educated to degree level.
• Accredited skills based training.
• Training related to management skills, teaching, staff development and supervison

Responsibilities

• Assess patient mental health needs and aid access to appropriate service.
• Help manage presenting risks and liaise with family and agencies.
• Ensure safe discharge of patients back to the GP where appropriate.
• Prioritise referrals and manage workload.
• Provide evidence based assessments and short-term interventions.
• Record keeping and inputting to information systems.
• Contribute to service development and team meetings.
• Support learning outcomes for student placements within the team.
