We are looking to appoint an Acute Medicine Registrar responsible for managing patients with urgent medical conditions and coordinating care within the Same Day Emergency Care Unit or on acute medical wards.
The postholder will be predominantly based at one of our SDEC areas and within our Acute Wards. They will be expected to be confident in assessing, investigating and managing patients at the level of a senior decision maker but will always have consultant support when needed. It would also be preferable for applicants to be fully independent in procedures such as lumbar puncture, pleural aspiration, ultrasound cannulation and ascitic drains. Our Acute medical units are supported by F1, F2, ACCS, GPST, PA and SpR colleagues.
