Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine at ST3-8 level. The post is based in the Acute Medicine department at Bristol Royal Infirmary, on a 12‑month fixed-term contract with part-time hours (40 per week).

The role includes leadership of the Medical SDEC unit and AMU, with on-call responsibilities as needed. Applicants should have MRCP/MBBS and higher degrees, and demonstrate strong audit and governance experience.

Qualifications

• Evidence of good multidisciplinary team working and leadership
• Ability to practice independently under consultant supervision and supervise/teach junior medical staff
• Experience of medical emergencies management and in-patients
• Demonstrates clinical governance understanding
• Awareness of audits and quality improvement

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership to the Medical SDEC unit and AMU
• Lead with service development and improvements for SDEC/AMU
• Deliver ambulatory type care to acutely unwell patients
• Contribute to on-call rota as needed
• Support education and training of junior medical staff
