A leading healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a clinically credible registered practitioner experienced in acute care. The successful candidate will manage critically ill patients and deliver high-quality evidence-based care. You will work in the Acute Care Team, facilitate patient admissions, and participate in clinical governance. The role offers a salary ranging from £38,682 to £54,710 based on qualifications and experience.
The post holder will be a clinically credible registered practitioner who is highly experienced and proficient in the management of the acutely unwell patient with a comprehensive background of experience in acute care. They will utilize their clinical expertise and specialist knowledge to deliver high quality evidence / research based care to the critically ill patient. They will review referred and ongoing patients and assess these patients who are considered "at risk" by the referring multi-professional team. They will act as a role model providing support, education and training to the multi-professional team caring for the critically ill patient. The post holder will have a degree of autonomy where they will be responsible for a caseload of patients across a number of specialties, to include an element of lone working.
The post holder will be expected to use their experience to support the implementation of clinical and non-clinical governance and to modernise patient services. In addition the post holder will be responsible for participating in clinical audit and nursing research.
They will be required to work flexibly as a member of the ACT team to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated and where necessary improved. In addition, to the obligatory advanced clinical skills, the practitioner may be required to develop a range of additional skills or techniques that fall outside the usual scope of nursing practice.

The post holder will be working within the Acute Care Team Critical Care Outreach service at East Lancashire Hospital Trust and will be banded appropriate to knowledge and skills. Those banded as 6 will be expected to work towards band 7 and will undertake appropriate training and development required for this post. The main roles and responsibilities will sit with in the management of deteriorating patients outside of the critical care unit and will facilitate admission avoidance, safe transfer and management of those patients identified for safe step down outside of the critical care. Additional to this the role requires the delivery of education around deteriorating patients, core role on the cardiac arrest team and daily case load of AKI patients. The post covers both the acute and peripheral Burnley site and the remote management of patients in the community sites as an out of hours service.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
