Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Junior Sister to lead daily patient care on the 20-bed enhanced care unit and supervise a nursing team. The post involves managing rotas, appraisals, and learner supervision in a negative pressure environment alongside critical care outreach and infection control teams.

The role requires a teaching qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent) and recent acute or emergency experience, with the ability to deliver high quality, evidence-based care and support

Qualifications

• Acute or emergency nursing experience.
• Recent professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily patient care from admission to discharge, acting as expert across nursing care.
• Act as nurse in charge with day-to-day management responsibility.
• Ensure care follows Trust policies and maintain records.
• Lead a team of nurses in evidence-based, patient-centred care.
• Assist senior sister with staff appraisal, rotas, recruitment, and supervise learners.
• Advise and support patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Use clinical audit and teaching to monitor and improve standards.
• Deliver high quality, safe, evidence-based care.
• Work with infection control in a negative pressure environment.
