Job summary

Unum UK is seeking a motivated actuarial graduate to join our Dorking team. This role offers hybrid work: 3 days in office, 2 days at home, with exposure to a broad range of actuarial tasks and study support to progress toward professional qualifications.

You will gain experience across Finance, Risk and the wider business, learning Solvency II concepts and risk management while developing stakeholder communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a numerate subject achieved at 2:1 level or above.
  • A strong academic record including A-Level Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work.
  • An interest in a career within the actuarial profession.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly and confidently.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Proactive and inquisitive mindset with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience using Excel; exposure to Python, R or VBA is advantageous.
  • Any actuarial internship or placement year would be beneficial.

What will you be doing?

You’ll Ideally Have

Location

Hybrid working. 3 days in office , 2 days from home.

A minimum of 2 days a week from our Dorking office and option to work the third from a choice of offices in Dorking, Basingstoke & London.
