Job summary

We are hiring a Pension Actuarial Consultant at WTW to support our UK Defined Benefit pensions work across multiple offices in London, Reigate, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Edinburgh. The role offers hybrid working with a flexible balance between home and office days for client meetings and development.

You will contribute to valuations, accounting, PPF levies, and related projects while mentoring juniors and managing assignments with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a pension actuary on UK defined benefit pensions work.
• IFoA nearly/newly qualified OR qualified actuary.
• Strong client-service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial work for UK DB pensions, covering valuations, PPF, and calculations.
• Mentor junior colleagues and demonstrate project management and delegation.

Job description

You will be joining WTW as a Pension Actuarial Consultant, supporting our UK Defined Benefit (DB) pensions work. This role can be based in London, Reigate, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, or Edinburgh, with hybrid working available in line with the arrangements of your local office.

We work with a wide range of clients, and your work may cover both trustee and corporate assignments. As well as providing advice on regular valuations, accounting, PPF levies, individual calculations, and factor reviews, we often work alongside our clients on innovative, market-leading projects. As a pension actuarial consultant at WTW, you will have opportunities to contribute to varied and interesting projects such as:

• Integrated risk management
• Liability management
• Asset and liability modelling and journey planning strategy

You will be part of a collaborative and inclusive team environment, actively engaging in team collaboration and building relationships.

As a pension actuarial consultant, you will also mentor junior colleagues, developing their skills, while demonstrating strong project management and delegation skills.

• IFoA nearly/newly qualified OR qualified actuary

• Proven delegation skills and a desire to coach and mentor junior colleagues.
