Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets is seeking an Actuarial Analyst, Reporting to deliver Lloyd's reporting and group reporting for Syndicate 457. You will develop the reporting infrastructure and automation while supporting regulatory and financial reporting cycles.

The role requires hands-on actuarial reporting experience in the London Market, strong math and SQL skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Mathematics or Actuarial background.
  • 2+ years in an actuarial reporting role, ideally in the London Market.
  • Strong mathematical / statistical knowledge.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge of reserving and reporting topics and develop skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Lloyd's reporting processes, including QMB reporting to Lloyd's.
  • Support Munich reporting processes and annual reporting tasks.
  • Work on international regulatory returns (US Trust Funds, MAS).
  • Prepare data for Group quarterly reporting (AvE, major loss, forecasts).
  • Assist with Actuarial Function and Annual Reserve Reports.
  • Familiarise with data warehouse and underwriting, claims, reinsurance systems; extract data with SQL.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation in reporting.
  • Liaise with IFRS17 project team on requirements in BAU.
  • Assist with additional actuarial reserving and reporting tasks.

Actuarial Analyst, Reporting

Perform a broad range of actuarial reporting tasks for Munich Re Syndicate 457, covering both local (Lloyd’s) and group (Munich) reserving & reporting requirements.

Help to develop the reporting infrastructure & MI to meet the increasing demands from the business and deliver process automation.

Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake the actuarial delivery of Lloyd's reporting processes, including leading the QMB reporting to Lloyd's and supporting other reporting requirements, e.g. Solvency UK and QMA;
  2. Undertake elements of the actuarial delivery of Munich reporting processes, including Solvency II TPs, quarterly reporting (Actuarial Day, Outliers, IBLC, AvE) and annual reporting (e.g. MYA), and review others. Ensure that results are produced in line with the Group requirements and reporting timetable. Review the work of others working on these processes;
  3. Perform or review the work underlying international regulatory returns such as the US Trust Funds and the Singapore MAS returns;
  4. Prepare information for to the Group quarterly reporting process, including tasks such as AvE reporting, major loss reporting, and ultimate premium & loss forecasts;
  5. Assist with actuarial reports such as the Actuarial Function Report and Annual Reserve Report;
  6. Gain familiarity with the data warehouse, as well as underwriting, claims and reinsurance systems. Extract and analysing data for varied purposes using SQL;
  7. Play an active and influential role in reporting process ongoing improvement and automation, in conjunction with other experienced;
  8. Liaise with the IFRS17 project team to develop an understanding of IFRS17 requirements in the live BAU environment. Assist with ongoing development if needed.
  9. Contribute to other actuarial reserving and reporting tasks as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Mathematics or Actuarial Background
  • 2+ years of experience within an actuarial reporting role, ideally in the London Market;
  • Highly developed mathematical / statistical knowledge;
  • Willingness to further increase knowledge of Reserving and Reporting related matters and key market topics and develop technical and management skills;
