Job summary

Tamfol is seeking an Activities Support Worker for maternity cover in Aberdeen. The role is part-time (18 hours per week) and involves helping adults with a learning disability participate in group activities, build confidence, and express themselves.

You will plan and lead activities, support individuals within groups and one-to-one, and undertake keyworker duties with some admin tasks. Desirable skills include experience in music, dance, drama, art, sport, and Makaton.

Qualifications

• SSSC registration required.
• PVG membership required.
• Experience with Makaton is desirable.
• Experience in support settings and with people with a disability is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with a learning disability to take part in group activities and build confidence.
• Plan and facilitate group activities and provide 1-1 support as needed.
• Fulfill a keyworker role and handle related admin tasks.

You will be required to support adults with a learning disability to take part in group activities, build confidence and express themselves. You will be required to plan and facilitate group activities as well as support people within groups and on a 1-1 basis, provide a keyworker role and complete admin tasks related to the role.

We are looking for someone who has skills in any or all of the following: music, dance, drama, art, sport and Makaton. Experience of Makaton, confidence in leading groups, experience in support settings, experience of working with people with a disability and a positive, creative and person-centred approach are all highly desirable. Essential: SSSC registration, PVG membership.
