Job summary

Care Dorset Limited is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support independence for residents in a residential or day care setting. You will assist in planning and delivering activities, run group and individual programmes, and maintain records.

You will work with the Manager and care staff, undertake risk assessments, contribute to care plans, and participate in training. A caring approach, good communication, and organisation are essential, with a focus on person-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience in planning and organising activities.
  • Awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Awareness of anti-discriminatory practice/attitudes.
  • Experience of working in a caring or community setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager and care staff in arranging and delivering activities for service user groups.
  • Develop activities reflecting service users' wishes and needs.
  • Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes.
  • Maintain service user records and other records.
  • Provide personal care to service users as required.
  • Supervise volunteers.
  • Contribute to care plan reviews and risk assessments for activities.
  • Attend staff meetings and training.

Job description

Provide a range of activities providing support and opportunities to enhance and maintainthe independence of service users.

Responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Support the Manager and care Staff in the arranging and delivery of activities to a varietyof service user groups within a residential or day care setting.Develop activities which reflect service users wishes and their needs as assessed by careStaff in order to meet aims and objectives as outlined in care plans.
  • Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes.
  • Maintain service user records and contribute to other establishment records, as required.
  • Provide personal care to service users, as required.
  • Undertake the direction of volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans to meet service users’needs for social and mental stimulation.
  • In conjunction with the Manager organise and arrange group and individual activityprogrammes, and to undertake risk assessments in relation to all planned activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings and undertake training.
  • Undertake any other duties of a lesser or comparable nature, as required.
Must haves:
