Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the therapy and nursing team at Walkerwood Unit on our purpose built, male, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual with experience in working within the inpatient mental health sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the inpatient therapy team to provide and deliver a programme of creative, social, and therapeutic activities under the guidance and supervision of the occupational therapy team.
  • Establish, coordinate, and run individual and group recovery and therapeutic activities.
  • Help individuals and groups maximise their recovery needs and achieve independence, including managing symptoms and developing diversional and coping skills.
  • Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, caring for patients with a wide range of needs and closely with nursing and occupational therapy teams.
  • Provide basic nursing care and engage in therapeutic activities as required.
  • Commit to primarily Monday to Friday hours, with some weekend work.
Qualifications

Experience of mental health care is a requirement, as well as experience of providing basic nursing care and engagement in therapeutic activities.
