Qualifications
  • Relevant Diploma Level 3/Level 3 or above qualification in health and/or social care, communication, teaching, Numeracy, Literacy Level 2 (or equivalent).
Eligibility

Right to work in the UK is required. This role does not meet sponsorship eligibility for the Skilled Worker visa; the Trust cannot offer sponsorship.

Main duties

Provide high‑standard care in a multi‑disciplinary, recovery‑focused setting.

  • Plan, develop and deliver therapeutic, wellbeing and social activities for service users, tailored to their needs and within established guidelines.
  • Work with the Nursing and Occupational Therapy teams to support patients in engaging with meaningful activity.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, adapting style to individual need.
  • Provide direct patient care and collaborate with nursing team to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Support patients independently using a range of activity types including art, craft, cooking/baking, gardening, music, exercise, puzzles and games.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
  • Relevant Level 3 or above qualification in health and/or social care, communication, teaching.
  • Numeracy, Literacy and IT knowledge Level 2 (or equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification in health and social care if not already held.
Essential Experience
  • Experience in paid, voluntary or personal work with people with learning disability or mental health issues.
  • Experience supporting engagement of others in activity.
Essential Knowledge
  • Awareness of needs of service users with mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
  • Understanding of the needs of individuals from diverse social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Understanding of the value and benefit of activity to mental wellbeing.
Compensation and Contract
  • Band 3
  • Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per year (pro rate), per annum.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Working pattern: Full‑time, Part‑time.
