A mental health service provider in Ashton-under-Lyne is seeking an organized individual to join their team. This role involves delivering therapeutic activities and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support patients in their recovery. Candidates should have NVQ2 education and experience in health care, especially in mental health contexts.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the therapy and nursing team at Walkerwood Unit on our purpose built, male, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual with experience in working within the inpatient mental health sector.
The role involves working with the inpatient therapy team providing and delivering a programme of creative, social, and therapeutic activities under the guidance and supervision of the occupational therapy team.
You will establish, coordinate, and run individual and group recovery and therapeutic activities, helping individuals and groups maximise their recovery needs and achieve independence. This will involve helping them manage symptoms and develop their own diversional and coping skills.
You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, caring for patients with a wide range of needs, closely with both the nursing teams and occupational therapy teams.
Experience of mental health care is a requirement as well as experience of providing basic nursing care and engagement in therapeutic activities.
The hours will be predominantly Monday to Friday but will require some weekend working.
