Job summary

Hill Care Ltd is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging programmes for residents, helping socialise and fostering hobbies within the care home setting. You will work closely with staff, relatives and visitors to run monthly activity plans, encourage participation, and accompany clients to offsite events when required.

The role requires empathy, creativity and good communication; training and ongoing development are provided, with a supportive team and a focus on dignity

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events/activities for Clients in all Client categories.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Team player with ability to work on own initiative.
  • Friendly, creative and confident; genuine interest in working with Clients.
  • Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List checks where applicable.
  • Experience of working with the relevant Client group.

Responsibilities

  • Help Clients socialise in the Care Home and provide varied activities for all tastes.
  • Plan monthly programmes and encourage Clients to maintain hobbies.
  • Encourage staff, relatives and friends to participate in activities.
  • Accompany Clients to offsite activities and occasional events outside hours.
  • Create an atmosphere suited to individual Clients within the Home.
  • Assist with fundraising and budgeting for entertainments and outings.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and review Client Care Files.
  • Discuss aims of recreation therapy with staff and report changes to managers.
  • Provide one-to-one comfort and company when needed.
  • Arrange/participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
  • Assist Home Manager with Volunteer recruitment and supervision.
  • Market the Care Home and promote its profile in the local community.
  • Attend mandatory training and maintain professional knowledge.
  • Promote safe working practices and report any hazards or issues.
