Position Overview

Full time contract. Pay scale: £30,000 - £32,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience). Location: Dolygaer (CF48 2UR).

Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer, a multi‑activity centre in the Brecon Beacons National Park, seeks a vibrant and qualified individual passionate about the outdoors and adventurous activities. The ideal candidate holds multiple recognised qualifications across various disciplines and has a minimum of five years of outdoor sector experience, including at least three years in team management, developing programmes and writing rotas. A proven track record in managing and developing outdoor and adventurous activities is essential, ideally with an established industry presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and organise the daily activities at the Outdoor Centre.
  • Ensure all customers taking part in outdoor activities will do so safely.
  • Develop a programme that attracts increased usage from the local community.
  • Ensure financial procedures and policies are adhered to.
  • Consistently improve the customer experience, ensuring customers look forward to returning after every visit.
  • Implement and monitor the company’s Health and Safety policy, associated procedures and ensure full compliance.
  • Keep an up‑to‑date Papertrail and staff qualifications list.
  • Create a positive culture with staff and customers.
  • Ensure that buildings and equipment are maintained according to centre requirements.
  • Ensure the centre meets external bodies’ standards and licences.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Outdoor Centre Manager.

Working Hours

The role requires irregular and unsocial hours, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, public holidays, and other nominated holidays. Flexibility in working patterns is necessary.
