Job summary

Country Court invites applications for an Activities Coordinator at Ruby Lodge Care Home in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. You will design and run engaging activities for residents, coordinating events, trips and community connections to enhance wellbeing and social interaction.

Ideal candidates bring creativity, a friendly attitude, and a passion for elder care. Bank hours, onsite parking, and a supportive team environment are offered.

  • Organise varied activities within the Home to cater for diverse interests of residents.

  • Coordinate trips and experiences in the local area and with community groups.
  • Organise seasonal celebrations and charity events.
  • Engage with residents and families, providing excellent customer service.

Do you have creative flare & want to make a difference everyday?

We are looking for an Activities Coordinator with creative flare and out-of-the box thinking to organise, run events and activities for our residents. From pumpkin-carving, to budding gardening, crafts and more - no two days will ever be the same as you support our residents to try new things and ensure they feel connected with the wider community.

What you will be doing: It’s hard to capture everything but we’ve jotted down a few key parts of the role below:
  • Organise varied activities within the Home to cater for a variety of interests and life stories for individuals, small groups and large numbers of residents.
  • Meet targets set out to improve our resident’s lives which includes getting to know every resident through our 'Resident of the Day’ programme
  • Work together with other local community groups and the wider local area.
  • Bring fun, ideas, and energy into our residents’ lives! Inspire others through great relationships, to deliver a range of thought‑provoking wellbeing ideas
  • Coordinate a wide range of trips & experiences within the local area for small groups & individuals
  • Arrange key events throughout the year, such as seasonal celebrations & charity events
About You

We are looking for someone who is friendly, welcoming, and entertaining, and would ensure all activities are appropriate for all residents.

  • An understanding of care sector would be advantageous
  • Have a friendly & caring attitude
  • Able to engage well with the residents and their families
  • Be proactive, passionate, and supportive team player, with experience of maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
  • You will be going out and about, networking, planning activities and with residents therefore having access to your own vehicle with business Insurance is essential
