Job summary

The Anchor Hanover Group is seeking an activities coordinator to support older residents with a varied calendar of engaging daytime activities. You will plan, run and adapt sessions to promote independence and choice, working to meet individual preferences and needs.

You’ll maintain stock, manage simple budgets for materials, and ensure safety and quality standards. The role offers team collaboration and opportunities to develop in a supportive, not-for-profit housing and care organisation.

Qualifications

  • Ideally previous experience of organising activities within a care setting.
  • Understanding of the types of activities older people enjoy.
  • Knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Job description

28 hours per week - 9 am - 5 pm during the week, 10 am - 5 pm on weekends

Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

Week 2 : Monday, Thursday, Friday

Reporting into the Home Manager, responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and facilitating stimulating activities, promoting independence and choice to meet customer needs.
  • Controlling and maintaining the stock of activities equipment, materials and resources within a given budget.
  • Comply with CQC essential standards and improve the quality of customer’s lives.
Required knowledge & experience:
  • Ideally previous experience of organising activities within a care setting.
  • Understanding of the types of activities older people enjoy.
  • Knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.
Required skills:
  • Creative flair with a range of practical skills e.g. arts & crafts.
  • Ability to motivate and engage people with good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to plan a calendar of activities.
  • Able to create an environment where customers feel able to participate and contribute ideas.
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Basic PC skills.
