Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an Activities Assistant at one of our care homes to deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities for residents on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-6pm). This role focuses on creating an engaging programme that motivates residents and suits individual interests.

You'll lead entertainment and social activities, outings and events, helping residents live as independently as possible and stay connected with family, friends and the local community.

This role is working 16 hours per week and will be working on Weekends. (Both Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm)

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Activities Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities to ensure our residents can enjoy an environment that is motivational and fulfilling. We want to make sure each individual can pursue the interests they most enjoy and that means you'll have a real impact on our residents' lives. The Activities Assistant role involves helping us to deliver an entertainment and activities programme that covers a wide range of pastimes, social activities, outings and events. Put simply, you'll help every resident to live as independently as possible and enhance their involvement with their family, friends and the local community.

ABOUT YOU
You don't need any specific experience to join us as an Activities Assistant, so you could come from any background. What's important is that you have a sense of fun, creativity, and the ability to encourage and motivate others. You'll also need to have that little extra something a real interest in the people we support. Enthusiastic and empathetic, you're someone who'll really enjoy helping our residents to live their lives to the full.
