Job summary

Barchester Care Home is seeking an Activities Assistant to deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities for residents. You’ll help provide an entertaining programme and support residents to live as independently as possible, while staying connected with family and the local community.

The role is 16 hours per week with weekend rotation, from 10am to 4pm. No prior experience required; enthusiasm, creativity and a passion for people’s wellbeing are essential. Training is available.

Qualifications

• No specific experience required; background from any field acceptable.
• Must have a sense of fun, creativity and the ability to motivate others.
• Real interest in helping the people we support.

• Deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities to residents.
• Deliver an entertainment and activities programme covering a wide range of pastimes, social activities, outings and events.
• Help residents live as independently as possible and enhance involvement with family, friends and the local community.

Job description

This role will be working 16 hours per week and include rotational weekends. The working hours for this role is 10am to 4pm.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Activities Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll deliver imaginative, fun and varied activities to ensure our residents can enjoy an environment that is motivational and fulfilling. We want to make sure each individual can pursue the interests they most enjoy and that means you'll have a real impact on our residents' lives. The Activities Assistant role involves helping us to deliver an entertainment and activities programme that covers a wide range of pastimes, social activities, outings and events. Put simply, you'll help every resident to live as independently as possible and enhance their involvement with their family, friends and the local community.

ABOUT YOU

You don't need any specific experience to join us as an Activities Assistant, so you could come from any background. What's important is that you have a sense of fun, creativity, and the ability to encourage and motivate others. You'll also need to have that little extra something a real interest in the people we support. Enthusiastic and empathetic, you're someone who'll really enjoy helping our residents to live their lives to the full.
