Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Darlington is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our delivery team. You will sort letters and parcels, deliver by van and on foot in the local area, and build relationships with customers.

This physically demanding, outdoor role involves walking long distances, driving a Royal Mail van daily, and working a rotating shift including Sundays. Full training provided, with pension and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• Be willing to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, stairs/hills, lifting 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
