Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Cranbrook is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 9‑month contract. You will sort and deliver letters and parcels, work in a Royal Mail van and on foot, and build relationships with customers on your route.

You’ll work a rotating 35‑hour week across 5 days, including Sundays at Ashford, with full training and a uniform provided. Overtime is paid and you’ll be part of a trusted team delivering the community’s mail daily.

Qualifications

  • A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
  • Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
  • Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/carrying 10kg+ mailbags.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
  • Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
  • Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Deliver more than just mail: exam results, birthday cards, business orders, and moments that matter.
