Working as part of our project teams, you'll be helping to maintain the highest standards in the delivery of campaigns. The role is dynamic, fulfilling and demanding. It requires creativity and innovation, and will suit a clear and inspiring communicator with great people skills to complement strong practical and logistical capabilities, healthy risk appetite, and a flair for purposeful mischief.

About you

We are looking for a capable, committed, enthusiastic and wholehearted team player to join the unit as a full time Actions Coordinator. They will take a leading role in developing and delivering creative and innovative direct action and other interventions in support of Greenpeace UK's campaigns and contribute to all aspects of our actions operations and activities.

Strong creative instincts and proven ability to innovate are crucial, alongside highly developed logistical capacities, and a commitment to integrate diversity and inclusion principles into your work.

The successful applicant will hold the principle and practice of solidarity dear, and share a genuine passion for Greenpeace's mission and methods. The role involves navigating complex and multilateral processes and situations; excellent people skills and personal resilience are vital. The work is demanding but fulfilling; flexibility, adaptability, appetite for the fray, ingenuity, boldness, time management, problem solving skills, risk appetite and an enthusiasm for purposeful creative mischief are essential.

  • Excellent self-organising, time-keeping, and project management skills, with the ability to manage conflict and maintain composure at all times.
  • Flexibility in work schedules and styles, ability to work well collaboratively and individually and to manage fluctuating demands placed on you personally and as part of a team.
  • Proven capacity to effectively navigate complex multilateral working relationships and processes under pressure, with the people skills to communicate clearly, inspire and bring others on board, collaborate fruitfully, negotiate skilfully, and engage constructively in discussion and debate.

Our commitment to diversity

We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in environmental and campaigning organisations and we're committed to doing what we can to correct this.

One of our Anti Racism Plan objectives is to proactively achieve stronger representation of people of colour, particularly within leadership positions, and we have recently published ambitious race representation targets.

As part of our commitment to increasing representation of people from underrepresented communities in the environmental sector, we are piloting a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) as a new approach to make our recruitment more equitable. If you identify as a person of colour, you can choose to opt in to the Guaranteed Interview Scheme.

We will be aiming to offer everyone who opts into the scheme and meets the essential criteria a first stage interview. While we fully intend to honour this, exceptionally high application volumes may affect our capacity. If so, we will communicate clearly and keep candidates informed as we continue to learn and improve.

Greenpeace UK is an inclusive and diversity-friendly employer. We value difference, promote equality and challenge discrimination, enhancing our organisational capability. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other category protected by law
