Job summary

West Lothian Council is seeking an Acting Head of Service to provide effective leadership and management of a range of customer and community focussed services that form part of Planning, Economic Development and Regeneration.

Your portfolio will include Climate Change, Economic Development and Regeneration, Planning Services, and Environmental Health and Trading Standards. You will lead, influence and deliver outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and management of a range of customer and community focused services within Planning, Economic Development and Regeneration.
• Ensure close links between physical planning priorities and the needs of businesses and employment.
• Coordinate and align resources across services to reflect corporate priorities, values and business objectives.
• Contribute to the council's Corporate Management Team and help shape its strategic direction.
