Accredited Checking Technician – Northampton (NN4 7UF)

Sector: Pharmacy | Sub‑sector: Pharmacy | Type: Permanent | Location: East Midlands Northampton

Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) to join their pharmacy team in Northampton. This role is essential in ensuring accuracy and compliance in the dispensing process while supporting safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform final accuracy checks on Prescription Only Medicines (POM), Pharmacy Medicines (P), and ancillary items.
  • Ensure all dispensing processes comply with GPhC, RPS, SOPs, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure clear audit trails.
  • Apply correct patient labelling in line with legal and professional requirements.
  • Record and report dispensing errors, incidents, and support investigations.
  • Support the Responsible Pharmacist and wider pharmacy team.
  • Contribute to training, CPD, and continuous professional development.
  • Uphold confidentiality, health & safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
  • Pharmacy Technician qualification (BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Accredited Checking Technician (ACPT) qualification.
  • GPhC registration with up-to-date CPD.
  • Minimum 2 years’ post‑qualification experience in hospital or community pharmacy.
