The Role… The Good Housekeeping Institute is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of the Good Housekeeping Institute accreditation initiatives across our premium portfolio.

This is a true new business role for someone who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities and winning new clients.

You’ll own definied client verticals, and be responsible for identifying prospects, building relationships from scratch and converting opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships. Success will come from your ability to generate your own pipeline, challenge conventional thinking and consistently exceed revenue targets.

Main Duties…
  • Own and deliver ambitious revenue targets within your category portfolio.
  • Proactively identify, research and win new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking and market insight.
  • Build a high-quality pipeline (sometimes from scratch), engaging brands, PR agencies and marketing decision-makers who are not necessarily already working with Hearst.

  • Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting and sales activity.
What You'll Be Selling
  • Good Housekeeping Accreditation
  • Trusted endorsements across Hearst's market-leading brands
  • Multi-brand commercial partnerships
  • Brand trust, authority and long-term commercial value

You’ll help brands use independent accreditation and trusted endorsement as a powerful commercial advantage, embedding it into marketing campaigns, product launches and wider brand strategies.

What We Are Looking For…

You’ll be someone who enjoys the thrill of winning new business and isn’t afraid of a blank sheet of paper.

You’ll bring:

  • A proven track record of consistently exceeding new business sales targets.
  • Experience prospecting, cold outreach and building a pipeline from scratch.
  • Confidence engaging senior decision-makers and creating opportunities where none previously existed.
  • Strong commercial curiosity and the ability to identify untapped market opportunities.
  • A consultative approach, uncovering client challenges and presenting compelling commercial solutions.
  • Good negotiation and closing skills.
  • High levels of resilience, self-motivation and personal accountability.
  • Experience within media, partnerships, licensing, agency or brand environments.

Existing relationships within PR agencies or brand marketing teams are beneficial, but we value commercial drive, curiosity and a proven ability to create new opportunities above an established contact book.
