DPC Chartered Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, is seeking an Accounts Assistant currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4 to join the accounting team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will gain practical experience across clients and accounting work while working towards your qualification.

The role offers exposure to bookkeeping, VAT returns, basic tax work, and client liaison within a supportive practice, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge and a long-term career in accounting.

Qualifications

• Currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4, or planning to continue.
• Experience in an accountancy practice is useful but not required.
• Keen to develop technical knowledge and build a long-term career in accountancy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Assist with VAT returns.
• Support with basic tax and accounting work.
• Process invoices, payments and other financial transactions.
• Assist senior team members with client assignments.
• Liaise with clients and colleagues to obtain information.
• Ensure work is completed accurately within deadlines.
• Develop knowledge across different areas of accountancy.
