Job description

The accounts senior plays a pivotal role in managing the financial accounts of our clients. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in practice accounting, statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns. Experience of working within an accountancy practice is essential as is experience of various accounting software (IRIS, QuickBooks, Xero and Sage) to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing and liaising directly with clients.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports using accounting software such as IRIS QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
  • Managing and liaising directly with clients to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to their accounts
  • Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure proper documentation is in place
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in accounting software including IRIS, QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero is essential
  • Must have relevant practice accountancy experience
  • High and focused energy levels and an adaptable approach to working on other projects
  • Strong numeric skills, communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike
  • A flexible work attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to plan, prioritise and manage own workload
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Competent in using Microsoft
  • Although this is an office based role, there is flexibility on hours/days worked (up to 20 hours)
