Job summary

PRO-TAX RECRUITMENT LIMITED is seeking an Accounts Senior in Liverpool to join an established practice. You will work with a varied client portfolio, build technical expertise and support junior team members.

ACA or ACCA finalist or qualified candidates are invited. You will prepare statutory accounts and tax returns, review junior work, and manage client relationships to meet deadlines.

Salary £34,000–£42,000 depending on level, with a range of benefits and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA finalist or qualified accountant.
• Experience in accountancy practice.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105.
• Experience preparing consolidated accounts.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
• Experience using cloud accounting software and practice management systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients.
• Preparing corporation tax returns and directors' personal tax returns.
• Meeting with clients to discuss financial information, accounts and business matters.
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing constructive feedback.
• Ensuring all accounts and tax returns are completed accurately and submitted within statutory deadlines.
• Preparing reports and supporting documentation for senior management review.
• Mentoring trainees and junior members of the team, supporting their professional development.
• Managing client workflows to ensure assignments are delivered on time and within budget.
• Resolving client queries and providing proactive support throughout the accounting process.
• Identifying opportunities to introduce additional services where appropriate.

What you will need to succeed as an Accounts Senior

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105.
• Experience preparing consolidated accounts.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
• Experience using cloud accounting software and practice management systems would be advantageous.
