Leeds / Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days home
£38,000 to £42,000 depending on experience + commission
25 days holiday + Christmas shutdown + birthday off
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our growing accountancy practice in Leeds.
If you are looking for a role where you can take ownership of your own client portfolio, build genuine relationships with business owners and do more than simply process accounts and tick boxes, this could be a great next step.
We’re a small, friendly and ambitious team working with a wide range of SMEs. We want our clients to understand their numbers, make better decisions and ultimately build stronger businesses.
You’ll have plenty of autonomy, direct client contact and the opportunity to get involved across accounts, tax, management accounts and advisory work.
We also believe in giving people flexibility in how they work. Our usual hybrid pattern is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in our Leeds office, with Wednesday and Friday working from home. However, we understand that life doesn’t always fit neatly around a set schedule, so we’re happy to be flexible with office days where needed.
Role Overview
You will manage your own portfolio of clients and work closely with them throughout the year, rather than only speaking to them when their accounts are due.
Your responsibilities will include:
Depending on your experience, there will also be opportunities to prepare personal tax returns and become increasingly involved in advisory work.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with solid experience gained within an accountancy practice who is comfortable taking responsibility for their own work and dealing directly with clients.
Ideally, you will have:
You may be ACA or ACCA qualified, part‑qualified or qualified by experience. We’re more interested in finding someone with the right practice experience, technical knowledge and approach.
Personal tax experience would be an advantage but isn’t essential.
Why Join Us?
Because we’re a smaller practice, you won’t be one person in a large accounts department.
You’ll work closely with the owners and experienced colleagues, have direct access to clients and gain exposure to different areas of the practice.
You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and have genuine input into how we develop and improve our services.
We’re ambitious about doing accountancy differently and building long‑term relationships with our clients. We want someone who shares that mindset and wants the opportunity to develop alongside the business.
We also want our team to have a good balance between work and life outside of work. While our usual office days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, we’re not unnecessarily rigid about this. If you need some flexibility from time to time, we’ll do our best to accommodate it, provided client needs and the work are covered.
What We Offer
The Practical Bits
Hybrid working: Typically Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the office, with Wednesday and Friday working from home. There is flexibility to adjust this where needed.
Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 depending on experience + commission
Hours: Full‑time, with flexibility for the right person
Holiday: 25 days + Christmas shutdown + your birthday off
If you’re an experienced Accounts Senior looking for more autonomy, stronger client relationships, genuine flexibility and the opportunity to develop beyond traditional compliance work, we’d love to hear from you.
