About the role

We are working with an outstanding accountancy practice seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Semi-Senior to join their growing Swansea team. This is a key support role, positioned between our senior accountants and trainees. It s ideal for someone with a solid foundation in practice who is ready to take on more responsibility. You ll be working closely with the senior team, helping ensure smooth operations across VAT, client queries, and accounts preparation. This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role with real potential for progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Accountants in managing workloads and client accounts
  • Assist in training mentors and reviewing their work
  • Coordinate and organise VAT return preparation across the team
  • Take ownership of ad-hoc client queries and provide timely responses and solutions
  • Prepare accounts for a range of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Liaise with clients to gather information and build strong working relationships
  • Help improve internal processes and team collaboration
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong working knowledge of VAT, accounts preparation, and general practice work
  • Confident in supporting junior team members and reviewing their work
  • Good organisational skills and ability to coordinate work across the team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable using accounting software (experience with Xero, Sage, or CCH Xero is a bonus)
