As an Accounts Payable Team Leader, you’ll join our dynamic Accounts Payable team who are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to both our internal stakeholders and our network of over 5,000 trade suppliers. With over 275,000 invoices processed annually, totalling more than £1 billion, our team contributions make a significant impact!

This role can be based out of our Plymouth office, and we’d hope to see you in the office full-time to complete your training. Thereafter, we are happy to accommodate hybrid working with circa 3 days in the office per week. We’re also happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

What You’ll Do:
  • Take ownership of payment systems and associated administrative processes, including supplier and invoice operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead the daily scheduling and coordination of team activities to meet operational goals.
  • Provide insightful reports and expert advice to help resolve complex issues through data analysis and interpretation.
  • Coach and train team members, supporting their development and monitoring progress to ensure high performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance working methods and recommending practical solutions.
  • Handle escalated payment, invoice, and customer service queries with professionalism and problem-solving expertise.
  • Liaise with external organisations and external auditors, representing the team and ensuring compliance.
What You’ll Have:
  • Working knowledge of Accounts Payable systems, including e5 Bank Reconciliation and General Ledger is preferred but not essential.
  • A solid understanding of VAT, CIS, HMRC regulations, and Company Financial Policies, with familiarity in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise both your own workload and support team coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and confidence working with data, supported by advanced numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience or the potential to step into a leadership role.

What You’ll Get:

Up to £43,104 depending on experience.

As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
